Afternoon touring St. Emilion

Taken to Chateau de Pressac a rather large winery. Each winery is measured in sections or hectors. A hector costs 1 million euros. This winery had 44 sections. You figure it out, to own one of these wineries you need to be fully invested and rather wealthy.

The soil is a mixture of limestone, sand, clay and gravel. The mix and the weather has the greatest impact on the wine. You can buy Merlot, Cabernet, pretty much all the wines are a blend. The French are very strict with their wines, tons of classifications. And in this area there are caves and underground caverns. During WWII the French hide tons of wine and art in these caverns. They still store wine in sone of these caves, perfect climate.
