We sailed last night from Bilbao to this most northwest part of Spain. Let’s just say if this was my first cruise , not sure about doing it again. The seas were beyond ruff, high swells, rocky unable to sleep. We were lucky being in the middle of the ship, more balanced than a cabin on either end. The water bottles were going back and forth.
La Coruna is a small port city, harbor on one side and beach on the opposite. Lush green grass and trees, rugged fjord coastline, many consider this city like Ireland. The city is built on a narrow strip of land that juts out into the Atlantic. This coastline is again world famous for high quality seafood, scallops, claims, eel, crayfish and small squid.
La Coruna is also known as the Glass City. You can see the above pic tall, long windows frame every house. Told this design is based on old fishermen homes, and still used today in new construction.
Finally a pic of us together, and it was cold. You think Mediterranean and hot sunny weather clouds your mind. Well April is cold, wet and windy. The good news not too many tourists.
