The first one you walk in is the temple or chapel. Where the Sultan and his wives, family and visitors pray. Flowing water signifying calm and being meditative. In fact the fountain you see was a gift from the Jewish community. Each religion made gifts in this first palace. Water is to recognize the power of the Sultan and the Koran.
The second one is the Political palace for dignitaries paying respect to the Sultan. Multiple meeting rooms all decorated so many people can sit around and discuss who knows what!
Mr. Sultan’ throne is smack in the middle of this huge room.
And the third is the private residence of Sultan, his family and concubines. Hey did u really think he is a one woman kind if guy!!! Nope he kept them upstairs in a separate section of the house. All the women were on the 2nd floor so they could look down on the men. Oh what I would have done, then my head would be sliced right off.
