Took a train from Cannes to Antibes where our ship was docked. Super easy and cheap.
Antibes is the capital of yachts and boating. It is very close to Cannes and Nice so many celebrities and billionaires keep their yachts here and travel the Cote D’Azur. It is a spectacular setting the blue water, yachts and old town with cobble stone streets. And this was where Picasso spent a good portion of his time in the South of France.
Antibes is the largest city in the South of France. The old town was founded in the 5th century that is like a maze, Roman and Medieval influences. Beautiful beaches between Cannes and Nice and in July a Jazz festival that brings talent from around the world here. Antibes has a history of jazz legends coming here to vacation and perform. Flower and food markets lots to keep us busy with. Definitely a highlight.
