Drey made it to the Cannes Film Festival which starts next week. I am standing in front of the exposition center that shows the festival, and in front of the steps and down to the street is the red carpet. It gets changed every day.
The festival was to begin in the late 1930’s, but was held up due to WWII. The actual one started 1946, and was for French, American and other worldwide countries that submitted their work. Why Cannes? Perfect weather, and has always been a tourist destination. Enough of a infrastructure and hotels. There are over 3,000 hand prints and signatures lining the street in front of the theater.
