

The ancient walled city that had one of the largest Jewish communities in Spain. This small city was the epic center of Jewish life from the 8 to the 14th century. From the 12th to 14th centuries life, religion and commerce was at its peak. Generally, the Jewish Quarter of any early city became the epic center and neighborhoods grew from around them. Jews were the merchants, bankers, and were able to read and write. The museum here has examples of early scriptures, books, drawings all evident of the highly evolved society they built in the pre-renaissance time.
